Cross-Teaming Guidelines

Cross-Teaming Guidelines

To ensure fair PvP, raids, and faction competition, staff can only punish for cross-teaming when sufficient in-game evidence is provided.

Cross-teaming is defined as players from non-truced factions intentionally cooperating in a way that provides a combat, raiding, or progression advantage that would not normally be possible alone.

For cross-teaming to be acted upon, all of the following must clearly be shown:

Required Evidence

  1. Full, uncut video footage of the interaction from start to finish
    - No edits, cuts, or missing portions.
    - The situation must be shown in full context. (e.g. no 20 second clips)
  2. The accused player IGN(s) must be clearly visible throughout the video
  3. Clear evidence of intentional cooperation between non-truced factions
    - Players must be actively working together, not acting independently.
    - Cooperation must be obvious and repeated, not a one-time coincidence.
  4. The cooperation must provide a clear and obvious advantage
    - The teamwork must impact the outcome of a fight, raid or situation.
    - Examples include securing loot, killing, or not being able to kill players.
  5. All evidence must be recorded in-game
    - Discord messages, screenshots, photos, or voice calls are not accepted.
    - Any evidence originating outside of the server will not be considered.

What Counts as Cross-Teaming

Cross-teaming typically involves mutual benefit and coordinated action between non-truced factions.

Below are some examples of situations that would be considered cross-teaming:

  1. Two factions fighting together against a third faction
    - Both factions avoid attacking each other and focus the same target.
  2. Multiple factions defending each other during a raid
    - One faction assists another by fighting off attackers or protecting their base.
  3. Splitting loot or rewards after a shared fight
    - Factions cooperate to win a fight and then divide the items gained.
  4. Planned/coordinated attacks
    - Two factions engage at the same time from different sides to trap enemies.
  5. Repeated teaming across multiple encounters
    - The same factions consistently avoid fighting each other and work together over time.

What does NOT count as Cross-Teaming

The following situations are not punishable, as they can lack clear intent or cooperation:

  1. Two factions attacking the same player without coordination
    - Both parties are acting independently and not assisting each other.
  2. Temporary non-aggression
    - Players choose not to fight each other but also do not help one another.
  3. Third-party interference during fights
    - A faction jumps into a fight but does not actively cooperate with either side.
  4. Running through or escaping via a third faction
    - When no assistance or coordinated behavior is shown.
  5. Accidental or unclear interactions
    - Situations where intent to team cannot be clearly proven from the footage.

Important Notes

  1. If the video does not clearly show intentional cooperation or skips key moments of the interaction, we cannot issue a punishment.
  2. Intent matters. If staff cannot confidently determine that players were working together, the report will not be acted upon.
  3. Prior accusations or reports do not count as proof.
  4. Every report is judged individually, and each case must meet the same evidence standards to be actionable.
  5. Players are responsible for avoiding situations that may be interpreted as cross-teaming.
  6. If you choose to do the following, you must ensure your actions cannot be interpreted as coordinated teaming:
    - Fight near other factions
    - Engage the same targets
    - Or avoid attacking certain players

Punishment

1st Offence: 1 Day Ban
2nd Offence: 3 Day Ban
3rd Offence: 7 Day Ban
4th+ Offence: Admin Discretion

TL;DR

Cross-teaming = intentional cooperation between non-truced factions that creates an unfair advantage.

If it is not clearly shown through full, uncut, in-game evidence, it cannot be punished.
