The holiday season is at our front door and this week we bring jolly updates that hopefully bring Christmas cheer in their own way!

Christmas 2023 Events

In true Cosmic fashion, we are bringing all the recent Christmas traditions that you all know and love!

Save Christmas /krampus Event

Krampus has been seen mucking around throughout the Cosmoverse! Cosmonauts, you have been tasked with collecting Krampus Coal from various events on the server to beat him at his own game!

Krampus Coal can be obtained from:

• Conquests
• End Envoy
• Evil Christmas Elves
• KOTH
• LMS
• Trials

Krampus Coal Jackpot

Players who obtain at least 1x Krampus Coal every day will be entered into the Krampus Coal Jackpot! The more Krampus Coal the planet collects, the more items that will be added to that day’s jackpot! Once a reward has been rolled and given out, the item will be removed from that tier’s loot table forever!

The total number of Krampus Coal collected resets after each jackpot roll. If you win, your reward will be added to your /collect. You can win a maximum of 1 prize per jackpot roll!

Krampus Minion

You can exchange Krampus Coal you collect at the Krampus Minion at /spawn for Lootboxes! The Krampus Minion only has a limited quantity of each lootbox tier available. Each lootbox tier has a scheduled unlock time, however players can speed this up by purchasing lower tiered lootboxes.

Evil Christmas Elves

The pesky elves are back, this time with better loot than ever. They’ll randomly spawn around, keep an eye out for them!

Season’s Beatings Trial Room

The trial room has been gathering quite a lot of snow build up, but we’ve had the snow removers in, so it’s looking festive again!

Christmas KOTH

We’ve received intelligence that Saint Nicholas has abandoned the North Pole KOTH cap. He apparently had some business to prepare for on Christmas Eve or something like that. The cap is yours if you want it!

Christmas Grace

The last thing we want while you’re eating Christmas Dinner is for you to have to check your walls, so from December 24th 6pm EST to December 26th 6am EST, all TNT/Creeper explosions will be disabled!
 

New Additions

This week we bring changes to a wide range of aspects including PvP, Bases, Cannoning and Minigames:

Mutated Sell Bot /blocks

Based on a recent suggestion posted in Discord, today we introduce Mutated Sell Bots! These mutated minions will reduce your /f afk cooldown by up to 80%! These mutated blocks can be found on the Store and in-game exclusively at /ruins and the /end!

Furthermore, due to very minimal usage of the normal sell bots, we have also made the following changes:

• Removed the XP requirement to sell
• Reduced the sell tax from 10% to 5%
• Reduced the warmup time from 12h to 3h
• Increased the chest area from 3x3x5 to 5x5x5
• Increased the chunk limit from 3 to 4

Mutated Stormbreaker /skin

WARNING! A Snow Storm is due to hit Dungeon Planet this Christmas. Sorry… I meant a Stormy Skin but they’re basically the same thing! With this mutated axe skin, being caught out with a Frost Monster Trophy will basically be a death sentence. Let’s see how this skin breaks up the current skin meta!

Legacy Battle Royale /minigame

By popular demand, we are re-introducing the legacy-mode battle royale minigame. If you think your PvP style is skill-based and not completely dependent on RNG, this is the game for you!

Cannon Box Rule Changes

We will also be making some changes/clarifications to Cannon Box rules:

• Claiming your Cannon Box with a Core Chunk is not allowed
• The only walls permitted to protect a Cannon Box are 6 Minechat regens and unlimited flat walls.
• The maximum claim for a Cannon Box is 12x12 chunks, excluding guider claims.

These changes will take effect when the Christmas grace period ends.

QoL Updates

Throughout the week we have been adding updates to make your experience more enjoyable and easier. Here are some of the updates:

1. Snow will now fall across the Cosmic Galaxy.
   1. You can use /toggle christmassnow to disable this if you so choose.
2. Updated scoreboard in /minigames to make it easier to see who your teammates are and if they’re still alive.
3. Updated Holy White Scrolled CORRUPT lore to show what Holy Water tier is needed.
4. Updated /skins menu
   1. Condensed /skins lore to show mutated and normal variants together making the menu. 
   2. Added number key shortcuts to view only single, double, triple /skins in the menu.
   3. Sorted the /skins in category view alphabetically.
5. Updated the /blocks menu to sort all blocks into 15 categories.
6. Lava Gen Buckets can now be placed in non-source Lava blocks.
7. Updated tools in /shop to come with Efficiency 5 and Unbreaking 3.
8. Reduced Consecration Altar cleanse time from 12 hours → 6 hours.
9. Reduced Trial Portal placement cooldown from 10 minutes → 5 minutes.
10. Increased /minigame lootbag token shop cost by 2x.

Bug Fixes

A huge shoutout to all the players who reported all these bugs. You’re making a huge difference for everyone on the server. Here is a complete list of the following fixes:

1. Factions can now see other faction’s /f logs again.
   1. Roster Edits and Shield Edits are publicly viewable logs.
2. Fixed /autobuy disabling when getting glitched in a block.
   1. Also made it more clear when /autobuy is disabled.
3. Fixed a bug which sometimes caused Soul Gems to set to 0.
